gh has released an updated version of the gh PLAYER™ 2.2 with improved "Save as DAISY XML" and SVG image support (Full release notes).

gh has added a Webinar and Training area to our Assistive Technology section to provide access to the information covered in our May 18th webinar "Save-As-DAISY and MathML". More webinars will be offered in the future, please check back regularly or email webinar@gh-accessibility.com to be notified of upcoming events.

10/29/09-10/31/09 - Conference
gh will be exhibiting at the ATIA 2009 Chicago conference from October 29 to October 31. A presentation will be given about the gh PLAYER™, Save-As DAISY, MathML, and NIMAS. Remember to stop by booth #222 to see what the gh PLAYER™ can do for you!

gh presented information about the gh PLAYER™ and NIMAS at the Michigan Integrated Technology Supports (MITS) Summer Institute.

06/15/09-06/17/09 - Conference
gh exhibited at the Texas Assistive Technology Regional Conference in Houston, Texas. We also give a presentation on the gh PLAYER™ including MathML and the Save-As DAISY feature used to create your own Digital Talking Book.

4/16/09 - Conference
gh attended the 2009 PATINS Project Tech Expo on April 16 in Indianapolis, Indiana. We gave a presentation on the gh PLAYER™ including the MathML and Save-As DAISY features.

3/23/09 - Conference Followup
gh participated in four presentations at CSUN 2009. In the first, "Preparing Accessible Documents at the DTBook Format Using Free Software" (Session details), gh personnel helped Dominque Archambault from the Université Pierre et Marie Curie in Paris, France demonstrate how to create DAISY books which were then read in gh PLAYER™. The second, "Word, Math, and DAISY: It All Adds Up" (Session details), showed practical examples of creating and reading DAISY books with MathML, particularly focusing on classroom use. Dave Schleppenbach presented the third session, "Computer-Based Accessible Testing System for High-Stakes and State-Mandated Tests" (Session details), which discussed gh's recent work with major education test publishers. Dave also participated in "Research on Emerging Technologies: A Panel Speaks About Research Funded by NCTI" (Session details) where he described our current research projects on MathSpeak.

3/18/09-3/21/09 - Conference
gh exhibited at the CSUN 2009 Conference in Los Angeles, California from March 18 to March 21. gh was located in the Marriott hotel at booth #277. Dave Schleppenbach gave a presentation on the Design, Implementation and Evaluation of an Accessible Testing System for High-Stakes and State-Mandated Tests (Session details). Dennis Leas gave a presentation on the availability and use of Math and DAISY in Microsoft Word (Session details).

3/06/09 - Conference
gh attended "Blindness: A Symposium" at the University of Notre Dame in McKenna Hall. gh showcased the gh PLAYER™ as well as Braille and Tactile Graphics products.

2/3/09 - Press Release
gh's Dennis Leas has co-authored the paper "Daisy 3: A Standard for Accessible Multimedia Books" (abstract), appearing in the October-December 2008 issue of IEEE Multimedia. This paper is available electronically from IEEE Xplore and also as a text-only Daisy 3 book from gh.

1/28/09-1/31/09 - Conference
gh exhibited at the ATIA 2009 Conference in Orlando, Florida from January 28 to January 31. Dave Schleppenbach gave a presentation on Friday, January 30 about the new features offered in the gh PLAYER and creating your very own DAISY book, along with making math books available at your fingertips. Thanks to all those who stopped by Booth #306 to see all that the gh PLAYER 2.2 has to offer!

1/12/09 - Software Update
gh has released an updated version of the gh PLAYER 2.2 that will be shown at ATIA. The new version includes additional push buttons, MathML and "Save As DAISY" support, roaming activation, and is optimized for large books. Download a free demo version of the gh PLAYER on our downloads page.
