Dave A. Schleppenbach
Co-founder
Dave is responsible for gh's strategic direction and business development. He began his career by founding and directing the VISIONS Lab at Purdue University in 1995, where he developed hardware and software solutions for visually impaired students. In 2000 he co-founded gh, LLC and served as Chief Executive Officer.
Dave brings to gh 8 years of experience in assistive technology, including his strong reputation in both academic research, and administering federally funded programs. Dave has worked with hundreds of blind students to develop gh's LaserLineâ„¢ graphic standards and also specialized curricula for science and math. He has taught Purdue University courses in the areas of Chemistry and Special Education. Dave's academic degrees include physical chemistry, mathematics, and special education.
Shashank Patel
Director, Sales and Marketing
As Director of Sales and Marketing, Shashank is responsible for all activities between the client and gh. Activities range from contract administration, customer service, proposal formulation, to program management. He comes to us from Purdue University with a background in Hotel Management. His 12 years of customer hospitality and 9 years of experience within the company and the accessibility community, has helped gh maintain and grow its clientele by delivering the best quality on time.
Reid Schmidt
Director, Operations
Reid Schmidt joined gh in 2007 taking on the role of Post Production Manager. Matching gh's fast growth, Reid took over the Production team and soon after became the Director of Operations. Reid and his dedicated team are responsible for meeting and often exceeding the customer's expectations.
He has come to us from Falcon Business Advisors with a background in process/project management and communication. He directs his team with a solid management style and ensures proper implementation of operations strategies and objectives resulting in positive channel growth. With his 30+ years of experience in the workforce, he's a great addition to the team.
Dennis Leas
Director, Technology
Dennis Leas joined gh in October 2003. He leads the software development team and the Technology Department. Dennis is responsible for managing the gh PLAYER, ATS, and MathSpeak projects, as well as supporting production by building tools for creation of the Digital Talking Books and assistance to Media Conversion projects. He brings to the company over 30 years of experience in programming, consulting, and training.
Dennis received his Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Purdue University in 1982. He obtained special training in Object-Oriented Programming in C++ for Programmers from Purdue University in 2002. His expertise is in C++/MFC, signal processing, and network programming. Dennis instructed Novell Administration I and C/C++ Programming courses at Ivy Tech State College in 2003.
Dennis published "Chisel Your Code with a Profiler" in Byte Magazine, August 1983, Vol.8, p.286. In 1978 Dennis and J.E. Mittenthal published "A Probabilistic Model for the Granular Layer of Frog Cerebellar Cortex" in Neuroscience, Vol.3, p. 181-198.
Chris Park
Director, International Business
Chris Park is well respected in the Assistive Technology Industry. He has been designing and product managing various adaptive technology devices and services. He has been a valuable advisor for our exciting new projects and international business opportunities.
